GEORGE K. FUIAXIS

George K. Fuiaxis, Esq., earned his B.A. degree from Fordham University, Summa Cum Laude, with a double major in Economics and Political Science, and also completed the Business Administration Program.  Mr. Fuiaxis was the speaker at his Fordham University graduation ceremony, and graduated with Honors in Economics and Political Science.  Mr. Fuiaxis was awarded with the Fordham University Alumni Award, the highest award and distinction provided at graduation by the Fordham Alum.  While at Fordham University, Mr. Fuiaxis was on the Dean's List, and part of the Omicron Delta Epsilon International Economics Honor Society, Pi Sigma Alpha Political Science Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Alpha Sigma Nu National Jesuit Honor Society, the President of the Fordham Pre-Law and Hellenic Society, founder of the Fordham Political and Economic Forum, Managing Editor of the Fordham University Journal of Philosophy and Social Science, and Entertainment Writer for the Fordham Observer.  Mr. Fuiaxis was the recipient of the following scholarships during his undergraduate career:  The Hellenic Times Scholarship, Phillips Scholarship and Athanasiades Scholarship.  

Mr. Fuiaxis earned his J.D. Degree from Fordham University School of Law.  While at Fordham University School of Law, Mr. Fuiaxis was an Associate Editor of the Fordham Law Review, on the Dean's List, founder of the Hellenic Law Student's Association and Entertainment Writer for the Fordham Law Advocate.  Mr. Fuiaxis' publication, Indemnification or Comparative Fault: Should a Tortfeasor's Right to Receive "Ryan Indemnity" in Maritime Law Sink or Swim in the Presence of Comparative Fault?, published in 67 Fordham L. Rev. 1609 (1999) has been cited in In re: TP Transportation, No. 95-215-B-M2 (District La. 2001).

Prior to starting his private law practice in Astoria, New York, in 2002, Mr. Fuiaxis was an associate at the law firm of White & Case LLP, and a judicial intern for the Honorable Herman Cahn at the State Supreme Court of New York, Commercial Division.  In addition to his law practice, Mr. Fuiaxis is an Adjunct Professor of Law, at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, the owner of Living Dream Realty, and a licensed New York mortgage loan originator.

Mr. Fuiaxis is fluent in speaking and writing Greek and is admitted to practice law in the states of New York and New Jersey, in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and in the United State Supreme Court. Mr. Fuiaxis has also received the The New York City Bar Pro Bono Society Star of Achievement Award and designated as an Empire State Counsel by The New York State Bar Association.
